Ripple Effect Oceanwear (or just Ripple Effect for short) is the volunteer based social enterprise that exists to protect and preserve the world’s natural marine environment. 100% of our distributable profits directly fund conservation projects worldwide. Through our unique volunteer based structure we are able to generate vital funds and awareness for conservation projects and provide you, the socially conscious consumer, with the opportunity to make a difference through a simple, everyday purchase of a t-shirt, singlet or greeting card.

Our Social Enterprise Structure

Ripple Effect was established in 2008 as a volunteer based social enterprise, but what exactly does that mean? Social enterprise is a relatively new concept in Australia and for many people this may be the first time they have heard the phrase. It is actually a very simple concept, a social enterprise refers to an organisation, such as Ripple Effect, that uses a business model but with one fundamental point of difference, unlike a traditional business our sole purpose is to fund conservation projects with our profits. 100% of our distributable profits are used to fund conservation projects and not fund the wallets of executives, board members and shareholders. Our unique volunteer workforce, that’s right all Ripple Effect staff are non-paid volunteers, allows us to maximise our profits and therefore maximise our funding. Learn more....
